Default Pioneer SP-FS52 speakers without a subwoofer

I currently have a pair Pioneer bookshelf speakers on speaker stands that go down to 55 Hz and I don't have a subwoofer due to a lack of space. Pioneer's latest model for floor standing speakers are the SP-FS52 which goes down to 40 Hz, so that's about a 15 Hz improvement in bass performance compared to what I have right now. I also sit about 4-5 ft away from my speakers when watching my TV. I also would think that it would look better to have floor standing speakers next to my TV instead of bookshelf speakers on stands. I have a fairly high-end receiver, a Yamaha RX-V667. Would these floor standing speakers be an improvement in bass performance compared to my bookshelf speakers? Also I was considering the Polk TSi 300's, but they don't have dedicated woofers for bass which the Pioneer has 2 dedicated woofers for bass, and the Polk's are more expensive. Remember, that I don't want a subwoofer but want deeper bass.
