Holland Psycho II pre-order!

I see that DVDOutlet (among several other Dutch sites) has a pre-order up for Psycho II (1983). Anyone other than me super excited for this?

Hopefully it's region free (and without PAL/50hz issues) so everyone can enjoy it until it gets a US release. I've been waiting for this one for years! Here's to a potential release of Psycho III also!

Wouldn't this be a Universal release in Holland. Unless they've licensed this out to some cheap Dutch outfit I think this is simply an early sign of Universal putting this out everywhere and it will pop up around Europe at around the same point in time. Then guaranteed to be regionfree and no 50Hz bs.

Probably so, but I haven't heard of a release in any other country. This is the first I've heard of it so far. It's still a ways to go before May, so we'll probably see it pop up here and there.

EDIT: Just checked DVDOutlet, and it's released under Universal Benelux, so you're right. Anyway, it doesn't matter. We're finally getting it! This is one of my absolute favorites, in many ways I prefer it over the original.

Picked up the DVD just last year when I came across it for cheap. It's really well done for a sequel to an all time classic. Will definitely be on the lookout for the Blu-ray reviews of this!

Let's hope that this is at least as good looking as the HDTV print that has been playing for the past couple of years.

I was really surprised when I watched the film for the first time. A sequel to a Hitchcock film, made 22 years later actually holding its own as a great suspense thriller. We don't get many of those, imo.

I actually had my finger on the "Play" button yesterday regarding that HDTV version. Something came up, and I had to postpone it to today. Was just browsing the web and planning to see it tonight, and came across this pre-order. Now I'm postponing it three more months.

It is still listed for May 22nd for Universal in Nordic region. They didn't take this out from the schedule when they did so with Far and Away, Midnight Run and The 'Burbs.

Might happen, but yes, it's like the only May title where Ive not seen a cover even.

I've been checking this thread daily since this pre-order went up.

I am literally sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for updates.

I hope this isn't a let down.

Still no details or cover art.

This just isn't going to happen, I knew it was too good to be true

Winchester 73 and Bend of the River are still scheduled from Universal on the same date, and there's no cover art or details for those yet either. I notice that High Plains Drifter was scheduled for the same date but recently quietly put back until September. I wonder if these titles will suffer the same fate?

Officially now gone from May releases in Scandinavia, so at least we won't be getting it.

I hope this does eventually get a release. It's my favorite of the sequels. III is really good too, just in a different way. A good dose of extras would be great too.

Yup! I kind knew this wasn't going to happen.
I'm kind of confident that it'll come eventually.....and hopefully a release of the full Goldsmith score.

The script and direction for Psycho 2 is a mess and Psycho 3 is much the same, not even Perkin's could save those 2 turkeys. Campy trash that belongs in the 80's they are. Psycho 4 however was great as a prequel/sequel, Perkin's despite being ill and not having a lot to do was back to his best as well.

Psycho 4 is the true sequel to Psycho. Although its prequel roots seemed to be ignored by the new TV series Bate's Motel which is retelling those early events.
