Default Hanna - September 2011

Hanna will be out on Blu-ray/Digital Copy & DVD September 6, 2011 in the U.S. and Canada.

What did you all think about the film? Personally, I loved it. I thought it was one of the few good movies of 2011 so far. I think it might get a few Oscar nods, maybe "Best Supporting Actress" for Cate Blanchett or Saoirse Ronan (pronounced "seer-shah").

Probably my second favorite flick so far this year. Not picking it up, but recommend that people who missed it check it out.

I've been waiting for an announcement. It seems like it's taking a while for this film to come out.

Maybe I'll just get the UK steelbook, since the US version isn't being released any sooner.

Loved the film. It reminded me of Run Lola Run and some of Luc Besson's films (La femme Nikita, Leon), and that's not a bad thing. Sorsie Ronan was excellent as Hanna.

It's the only "must own" movie from 2011 for me so far.

Good to hear since Hana will be a blind buy for me!

Yeah this movie was pretty solid, I def enjoyed it. I will be adding it to the collection as soon as it's available!

I liked the cast, and while the story was certainly not complex or mind-blowing, I had fun watching it.

You won't be disappointed! Although, the ending might be a little
[Show spoiler]abrupt,
to say the least.

I really hope that the US gets a steelbook. For me, it really doesn't matter if it's released sooner or not, I just really want the steelbook. It'd be a shame if it was UK-only seeing as it would cost more. But it's either steelbook or nothing (unless the regular packaging is better, which never happens).

Good movie but.. eh.. not a lot of replay value for me. I can listen to the soundtrack all the time though.

I also enjoyed this, having trekked to the cinema to see it in May. Cate Blanchett's among the very best actresses working today, Saoirse Ronan's a rising star and Eric Bana, so good in Spielberg's Munich, never lets you down.

I thought it was a good, solid film, nicely scripted for a sneaky-beaky intelligence operative-themed actioner, with a good cast and a story that was different enough to make it an enjoyable two hour romp of obligatory things-blowing-up set pieces and with shades of Bourne and Nikita (and any of the innumerable spin offs/reimaginings of it) about it. The less said about Cate Blanchett's accent the better, though, I think. She may have nailed Katherine Hepburn in The Aviator, but she well and truly walloped her thumb with the hammer with her Wiegler character in Hanna.

I'm down for a UK steelbook, too, come August. For only a quid more, I'm in.

Clarification to OP:

Hanna will official release on September 13th not the 6th.

I guess I was the only person that hated this movie. It really felt boring and unentertaining. I was very displeased with it

That's a combo set, right? So the dvd would be in PAL, wouldn't it? I tend to lend out the dvds to friends, so that would make the UK set a waste for me.

I admire your charity but I'm sure your friends wouldn't betray you if you got the steelbook; And of course you could always get a domestic copy so that would solve all dilemmas
