Default sore throat / cold

So I have a sore throat and I've catched a cold... Very irritating.
I have cough constantly and my throat is 'dry'.

How do I get rid of it?

I've ordered ''strepsils'' and a ''throat spray''. Hope it will help.

Hi, u r not feelin' well.
1st & 4most u have 2 build ur immune system. Make sure u eat right, a good multi & lots of Vit.C !

Dr. Schulze(https://www.herbdoc.com/) has excellent programs & He has things specifically 4 colds, sore throats & flu, etc. I've used their products for yrs. now, & it does take a lot of discipline on your part. Hope this can help!

Drink hot water boiled from a kettle and leave to cool a little...that will help your throat.

You're obviously not in the medical field. Many throat sprays contain numbing agents. When you numb an irritated throat, it prevents you from feeling the necessity to continue coughing. Coughing exacerbates the irritation, so not coughing is obviously beneficial.

Productive coughs during certain illnesses are one thing (bringing mucus from the lungs to either spit out, or relocate in the stomach) is one thing, but simply having a dry irritated throat and cough is another.

Throat sprays, cough drops, etc... and then Nyquil to help you sleep (and also not cough) is another benefit. Always carry fluid (water is fine) to suppress the urge to cough also.

I'm not a Doctor but I play one on TV (in my head movies) and throat spray is usually worthless, at least in my experience. You can spray it all you like but it will wear off quickly.

I second the honey and tea. Peppermint tea is also wonderful to coat the throat.

If you have insurance and depending on the severity, I recommend to take a quick trip to the urgent care and get prescription strength throat spray.

I'm pretty sure this is not medically recommended but it always works for me...when my throat is sore, I garage with tequila. I assume the alcohol kills whatever bacteria is in there.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Only thing I recommend is a two-step drink hot tea and watch movies!

Hope you feel better.

Whatever you do don't use Mucinex! I took it once and felt like I was having a heart attack. I was on the floor for a good 10-15 minutes with chest pain. The pain stopped after 3-4 hours. It helped but I would never use it again.
