Any word if Criterion or anyone else is going to ever bring this classic to HD? Based on the DVD and TCM HD version the print and soundtrack certainly need some cleaning up, but still I'd rather have it on blu ray with scratches than not at all.

Ooo, that's what I want: a masterpiece. I understand that Criterion owns it, maybe they're looking for better elements. I hope it's not too long before a good looking HD version is released.
