Yes! My favourite giallo is coming to blu-ray courtesy of Shameless!
THE STRANGE VICE OF MRS WARDH STRUTS ONTO BLU-RAY Release date: 10 July 2017 Pre-order: coming very soon… SHE’LL GRIP YOU IN HER VICE OF SIN AND SADISM A stylish, sadistic giallo masterpiece from TORSO and ALL THE COLOURS OF THE DARK director Sergio Martino! An ambassador's wife discovers that one of the men in her life - her husband, an ex-lover or her current lover - may be a vicious serial killer. Martino’s hypnotic thriller pulls no punches with a series of grisly murders and a stand-out performance from the stunning queen of 1970's Italian cinema: Edwige Fenech! Revered by fans and critics as one of the top giallo thrillers of the 1970s for its surreal imagery and a heavy dose of style, suspense and bloody murder, Shameless is delighted to welcome MRS WARDH to UK Blu-ray for the first time, restored in sumptuous 1080p! EXTRAS * Sergio Martino and Edwige Fenech interview * Sergio Martino introduction * Interview with director Sergio Martino * Fact track by Justin Harries * Edwige Fenech bio presentation Pre-order and full specs coming soon... https://www.facebook.com/groups/sham...4709586242496/ Last edited by BigNickUK; 08-04-2017 at 01:49 PM. |

Great news. Shameless gets the short end of the stick sometimes - well deserved in cases like 4 Flies on Grey Velvet - but I like the fact that they release titles within a month (give or take a few days) of announcing them. It's good for impatient folks like me. Hoping this is a new transfer and looks gorgeous.

I've just received my copy, and I have to say it looks very nice indeed! I would guess that it's probably from a recent restoration. The blacks are inky, and the colours are really vibrant. Flicking through the disc there wasn't any appreciable print damage, and the image looked really stable. I won't know if the whole film is okay until I watch it later on, but first impressions are really good.
It's definitely a lot better than All the Colours of the Dark. ![]() Last edited by Spiderwalk; 07-19-2017 at 02:00 PM. |

HMV site says 31 July for release?
*But I'm glad first impressions are good! This is my favourite gialli and after the poor reports of Shameless' All The Colours of the Dark I was beginning to get worried. Last edited by robertzombie; 07-19-2017 at 02:04 PM. |

I watched my copy this evening, and I really enjoyed the presentation of the film.
I chose the English audio track which was nice and clear with only a slight echo during the party scene. The title card with the Freud quote was obviously added separately, it was a little bit too pristine and modern looking (minor gripe). The only other thing that I could say was troublesome, was that a few shots had a kind of ghosting effect, it was particularly noticeable on street signs, but it only occurred in maybe three or four scenes. The transfer is virtually immaculate with hardly any speckles, and I didn't notice any compression artifacts at all. This is a very nice release overall, much better than I was anticipating. ![]() |
