Default Klipsch rw-12d~"to raise or not raise..."

...that is the question"
Recently placed my subs in living room on some risers, wondering about this one...

So, I've tried getting feedback in the Klipsch section, but no replies...
Curious to hear some opinions on placing my RW-12D in my bedroom. I'm not really sure whether to or not seeing as how the port is designed on this particular model...
Any feedback would be AWESOME!!!

Howdy - I recently placed my 2 RW 12D's on Auralex GRAMMA risers. My main hope was to cut down on vibration going through the walls and rattling the glass doors on some built in cabinets. They helped cut that vibration a lot, but what surprised me was the improvement in the sound and feel from the subs. The bass is tighter and with less transfer to the floor and walls, the punch in the chest feeling is greater. No scientific measurements, but I am pleased with the result and feel that it was money well spent. Have fun...

I noticed the same with the subs in my living room!
I was just curious if anyone had experience with the Klipsch model.
Thx for the feedback

I put mine on my DIY riser. Sounds pretty good. I think the optimum is like a few feet off the ground or something crazy like that. Not aware of any downsides to putting it on a riser. So you would benefit from it I'm sure. And building a riser is real easy. Unless you don't mind paying for one.

That's weird. Is it a carpeted floor, or tile or something? Downward firing? It's a strange effect. I was going to give it a shot, but now I'm kind of apprehensive.

Yeah, I have to raise that up. Gonna have to yell for the neighors, though. A cube of concrete the same size must be lighter.

I'll bring it up maybe eight inches or so - it's sealed, front firing, it just needs to stop have the sound from sliding around on the floor.

I hear ya. my svs is heavy like that. i had a sunfire sub for a while, that think would jump around a lot too when listening at higher volumes.

It's nuts. It really is. My only headache is the grille - the extension on the woofer is so deep, the surrounds tap it sometimes. I remove off for the really wild stuff.

There are less expensive subs, definitely, but none nicer.

For the price you probably paid for that BEAST it ought to be nuts!
