Default CELLAR DWELLER and CATACOMBS coming from Scream Factory

HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH!! **NEW-TO-BLU ANNOUNCES**

Our celebration of this most awesome day starts off with the announcement of two blu-ray double features of four films making their debuts on blu-ray:

- 1987’s genie-on-the loose THE OUTING will be paired with 1980’s Omen-inspired THE GODSEND from Cannon Pictures.

- Empire Pictures’ CELLAR DWELLER and CATACOMBS (both from 1988) will share a double bill. John Carl Buechler (Troll, Friday the 13th Part VII) directed CELLAR and David Schmoeller (Tourist Trap, Puppetmaster, The Seduction) directed CATACOMBS.

All are expected to land on 7/14 and will receive new widescreen HD transfers. Pre-order links will go up next month.

Many of you will recognize these films from our prior “All-Night Horror Marathon” budget DVD releases back in 2013. At the time, we were unable to create new transfers for a variety of reasons (mostly financial) which caused disappointment from fans who wanted better presentations. (We felt your pain too.) We are pleased to be able to “correct” this now and have chosen some of the more requested titles from those releases to experiment with. If they do well, perhaps more will follow.

Note: Run times for each movie will be exactly as they were on the DVD releases. There are no new extras as the costs spent are going to the transfers.

Sweet, I was just about to order the dvd set with Cellar Dweller to replace my laserdisc rip, but will certainly wait for the blu now. Don't think I've seen Catacombs, so bonus!

CATACOMBS is the better of the two IMO but both coming to BD is awesome

I wish they would have at least listed Catacombs first. The way it is now is going to drive my organizational OCD a bit crazy.

I also love that CD has that sweet artwork. It was so hard to find a decent scan of that online a few years ago when I was making a cover for my custom and wanted that. Had to settle for it in low-res version with Combs head blocking half of it. Now the scans are easy to find and nice resolution.

I have seen the 2007 Catacombs, but the 88 one isn't ringing any bells yet. Trailer looks fun though!

Awesome, almost bought them on dvd, but wanted to wait a little bit. Sergio Salvati shot both of them and he's one of my favorite horror cinematographers.

I'd love a restored special edition of the first one.

Only if Curse 2: The Bite is uncut. The US DVD is full frame & cut, removing a lot of the great gnarly gore & effects. It's got some gleefully twisted stuff in it that I'd love to see in HD.

Cellar Dweller is going to be widescreen, wasn't it shot in full-screen?

Probably meant to be matted for 1.85 for a super limited theatrical run, like most of Band's movies.

Two really fun movies! I love Curse IV aka Catacombs!

I would love to see the rest of The Curse movies on blu-ray, especially Curse III which was a lot of fun.
