I would say yes. With the free games and discounts on other games I have more than made my money back on PS+. I do like that they give an hour demo, I picked up a few games because of them. I actually just renewed my membership for another year.

The FREE games ALONE make it worth it after like 1 or 2 free games and there's way more. The discounts and early exclusives are just icing on the cake. When I first joined a year or so ago, they had Red Dead Redemption on the PS store for 40 bucks. If you were plus, for 20 bucks you got the game and ALL the DLC. It was amazing. Same for LA Noire and GTA IV

I'm not sure but Playstation Plus will only beneficial if you use it all the time. Someone like me won't benefit from it very much because I hardly play games and download movies.

Games rotate in and out once a month. Typically 3-4 new games rotate in each month, at least 1 of which is usually a full retail game, so you're looking at a lot of free games in one year... and the games are typically pretty good, not shovelware.

You just missed a PS+ update on Dec. 5 which rotated out Crysis 2 and rotated in Batman: Arkham City and Vanquish (among other games).

I bought PS Plus for the Save Cloud storage. So if my PS3 dies, I won't lose any of my Save Data. The discounts are an added bonus plus the Automatic Updates. So yeah to me anyways, it was totally worth it.

You should know that the full game trials last for 1 hour and can't be re-activated once used, so do not subscribe to PS+ simply for the game trials. It would be a very bad mistake to do so. The trial demos are there so you can try out the full game, not for extended play in lieu of a purchase (you can choose to buy the full version inside the trials if you so choose, though I wouldn't do so personally as it's often more expensive than buying physical copies and eats up a lot of space on your hard drive).

If you're worried about the safety of your credit information but don't want to buy a PSN card, you can either do a 1-time credit card purchase on PSN but choose not to "remember" the card information once the transaction is complete, or just buy a PS+ subscription card directly from a store.

It's absolutely worth it. At the subscription price it's an amazing deal given all the free and discounted games.

Any games you get for free you lose them if you get rid of your subscription.

If you let the subscription expire you will not be able to play the games.

I forgot all about the cloud saving. That is another big bonus.

Totally worth it for the cloud saves alone IMHO. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

I don't game too much but I think that for the price of one game a year it's worth it on the off chance I want to play one.

Demos? Forget about demos. We're talking full games here. In the six months since I renewed my subscription, I've downloaded:

Infamous 2
LittleBigPlanet 2
Borderlands
Batman: Arkham City
Vanquish
Red Dead Redemption
Dead Space 2
Motorstorm: Apocalypse
Just Cause 2
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Limbo
Saint's Row 2
Resident Evil 5
Crysis 2
Deus Ex: Human Revolution

And that's not even all of them. Then you get auto-updates, cloud saving, discounts and full game trials (which may be what you're thinking of when you say demo - 99% of demos are available to all, PS+ or otherwise.)

So yeah, if you're asking whether effectively renting dozens of games, many of them AAA titles, for a whole year, for the price of one new game is worth it, then yes - it's totally worth it. I'd pay double for what's effectively the biggest bargain of this generation, by a long way.

For me, its the best value in gaming right now. I am playing a lot of games that I would not normally buy (Resident Evil 5, All the Sonics) and ones I planned on buying (inFamous 2, LBP2, Walking Dead episodes 1 and 2, Uncharted Golden Abyss) for the cost of the one year subscription. Ive been a member for about a year now and have 25+ games for free (Retail games, PSN, PSP, VITA, PS1, Minis). The icing on the cake is the automatic updates and cloud storage that was upgraded to 1 gig. I also take advantage of the Plus discounts on games and add ons which has already saved me more than $50. I would HIGHLY recommend it to any PS3 owner.
