Oh wow lol it's news that was already known about 4 days ago. Yep the Xbone was already in the top spot on Tuesday before the DRM drop announcement. PS4 is still outselling it though due to the various launch bundles and the two regular console only listings all being in the top 15 I believe. Great reporting yahoo.

It's gonna be a long day.
![]() That amazon page you gave shows Xbox One being #1 correct? Right, that was DAYS ago before MS remove DRM. Thus making that YAHOO article (fitting name) you posted meaningless. Also, as many have said already, the PS4 original launch is sold out, long long ago, so it got push down over time. Expected to be so. As for the rest, there's the PS4 standard and several other PS4 Launch Bundles upping the chart, what does that say? It means the numbers are split for every pre-order of the PS4, as it has many. Where as the Xbox One not only is still on its first single Launch edition, all of its pre-order number is cram into one. Get where I'm going? Last edited by Blu-Generation; 06-21-2013 at 11:55 PM. |

The fun part is people are thinking that because the One is gaining ground on a console that's sold out, that's somehow impressive.
The Xbox One is behind on sales for 2013, and is behind two PS4s on the wishlist. Only total MS fanboys like domingos35 think the Xbox One is winning, at least on Amazon. The PS4 bundles aren't even cracking the top 100 for the year (nor is the PS4 dual shock), which implies that pre-orders have WAY slowed down to boot. |

Does it somehow give you pride that your console of choice may or may not being doing better than the competitor? Just wondering why you're so invested in Xbox One "winning". And that's coming from me, who has pretty much been labeled a Xbox fanboy here A LOT.
Competition is good. Both consoles are pretty sweet. At the end of the day, buy the one that your friends will be on and that will have the exclusives you care about, and YOU WIN. Doesn't matter which one sells more. |

This makes sense that it's #1 for a few reasons.
For one, the DRM announcement surely helped more people order. But also, the non-bundled launch PS4 has been sold out for some time, and now they have several different bundles with different games available for launch. So, of course no one of those is beating the Xbox One preorders. But collectively, they most likely are. Out of the top 3 out of the top 5 Best Sellers in video games right now are PS3 consoles - the standard edition at #2, and a couple of bundles at #4 and #5. #1 is the Xbox One, of course, and #3 is the Last of US for PS3. A few spots later at #9 is another PS4 bundle as well. While I'm not sure exactly how Amazon measures this, I'm sure in addition to the sheer number of an item being sold/preordered, the rate at which it is ordered also counts. Items that were once hot but then "cool off" eventually get surpassed by newer "hot" items that may still not have sold the same total number of units that the previous "hot" item sold. And with that in mind, the sold out stand alone PS4 system is still at #19, which isn't too shabby. Now, I'm not saying that it isn't possible for the Xbox One to catch up to or even surpass the PS4. But from what I do know some B&M retailers have been given a more strict preorder limit on Xbox Ones than PS4s and have run out of preorders of it not due to it being more popular, but due to there being a bigger limit. If that carried over to Amazon as well, then the fact that the Day One edition is still available would indicate that it probably isn't selling quite as well. But whatever. I'm sure both consoles will sell well enough to do just fine (especially now that MS has dropped their stupid DRM policy) regardless of which one surpasses the other. |
