I didn't realise that the UK Blu Ray release for sub-par.

I own it but have never watched it and as I've already placed my pre-order for the recently announced batch of titles I'll purchase this once it is released.

Just to be clear, I don't own the UK disc, so I can't vouch for that, but people said it here, so I didn't buy it when it came out, years ago.

Some comments here and here on the UK disc

The UK disc is far from great (even 14 years ago).

We'll need to wait and see if Imprint have been looking through backlot skips or someone's given them something decent. Either way we'll get whatever they get. They'll do nothing with it.

I think the film's rights have moved in the last 14 years so fingers crossed.

Perhaps in the UK, in the US they're still with Miramax/Paramount.

Filmyard/Colony Capital sold off Miramax circa 2014. I think most of the properties are now owned by beIN Media Group/Paramount Skydance Corporation.

StudioCanal no longer list it in their catalogue so maybe it's with Paramount. It was an IM Global/Intermedia property.

I think

I did some Googling, Miramax released it in the UK originally, and still controls it there.

Miramax/Buena Vista are credited on the quad theatrical poster and the 2002 DVD:

The 2011 BD from Optimum has the Miramax logo on it.

And it's still streaming in the UK, credited to Miramax:

Looks like Miramax/Paramount has the UK rights in perpetuity, same as the US.

I remember watching it 14 years ago (wow!) and thinking it looked worse than the DVD.
