Default Sony BDP-N460 Question about sound

Just recently, my blu-ray player started acting up. When I put a disc in, and it starts to load, it'll start the opening credits, or previews or whatever is first, but the sound is so ear piercing loud no one can stand it....I also have NO control over the volume.....I can hit "mute" and the sound is still loud, no matter what I do to the volume it doesn't change. I have to turn it off, and then shut the power off at the surge protector, wait about 30 seconds and turn it all back on.......then "most" of the time, it'll be fine....but then the next day if I watch something, it'll do the same thing.....

Anyone have any issues "similar" to this? I don't know if its my surge protector, player, cables, or what? I'd hate to start just replacing stuff without direction, so I figured the experts here might have had a similar experience....=)

Thanks!
