I've stayed in a few decent hotels over the years, and it never surprises me how pitiful the quality of the signal is on hotel room flat screens. And I don't think I've ever seen the proper aspect ratio on any of them. Granted, each guest will fiddle with the settings and that never helps, but that has nothing to do with the actual lousy signal. I guess most hotels are still using dated wiring, splitting the original signal multiple times via analog coaxial.
Maybe one of these days I'll be floored when I actually see a picture in a hotel room that looks as good as my home set-up. |
