I have a feeling it wont be overly impressive. I never saw it climb that high and it seemed the Trilogy sold better than the single copy of Spiderman 3.

Maybe so but each trilogy pack sold counts for three units, remember !

You would have to add the numbers for:

A) Trilogy sales.

B) Single BD Spidey 3 sales.

C) Any 40gb PS3 bundles sold on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week.

That should give you a pretty good idea how many Spidey 3's hit the market this week.

I'm pretty sure that adding them all up will yield a pretty good number.

Pretty sure the trilogy counts as a single sale. That said, adding the number of trilogy sold to the number of Spidey 3 discs sold should give a good idea. I'm also pretty sure the freebie in the 40GB PS3 does count in the sales numbers...

The trilogy counts as a single sale on the Nielsen's. The Spidey 3 freebie won't count in the Nielsen's because it doesn't get scanned. If Sony issues a press conference (perhaps Monday?) I'll bet they include the freebie in their sales numbers though.

No they don't. The trilogy has its own (single) SKU, so it counts as one unit, just like any other boxed set.

Either way, the combination of Spidey, Die Hard, Cars, Ratatouille, etc., etc. will KILL transformers in the numbers. Probably a 3:1 or more ratio between their greatest single hit of the season and our many great exclusives.

If that is the case, then perhaps it will.

I assumed, perhaps wrongly, that it would only count as one.

I agree! Movie studios (specially now) like to sling BIG numbers. Whatever, it is necessary P.R., even if it is deceptive. Trilogy is ONE product (one sku) it will count as one sale in the Nielsen/ VideoScan numbers...Trust us on that one.See above ;-)

I don't see how it could count as 3. It is 1 item.

I think that trilogy sales should count towards SM3 sales because if there wasn't a trilogy, then people would just buy SM3 by itself...

i'd love to contribute to sales, but i'm saving my money for COD4:MW. BUT I'm going to purchase this set when I get paid again AFTER that. so rest assured I'll be helping to pump up the sales quota earned.

well the trilogy sales should technically count as three seperate units...kinda. The spidey 3 single disks plus the # of trilogy's sold = all the Spidey 3 units sold. and just the trilogy sales alone will be the numbers for both Spidey1/2 sold.

I know where I am at the lines for SP3 were shorter on media day than on the day of Transformers. Where next week should be a big blu week I suspect that since there as so many titles nothing will do as well as Transformers did since it was for the most part done alone.
