Default Who else thinks My heart will go on is an underrated song?

I may not be so crazy about the Titanic movie, but I love the song that Celine Dion sang for it, "My heart will go on." On MSN I was browsing through some reviews of that song, and a lot of users gave it a low rating. What are your thoughts on it? I personally love it, and as corny as this may sound, I find the lyrics beautiful. I also like the addition of the woodwind instruments in the chorus. Whether you're a fan of this song or not, discuss this love song here.

People can say what they want, but this is indeed a very beautiful song. While I am not particularly a fan of Ms. Dion, I must say she had the right chops for this interpretation of a somewhat sappy love ballad. I suppose however, in some way, all love ballads are sappy, but that's ok. There's a time and place for everything.

Keeping enjoying it!

I love the song! I was spending some time in NYC with a lady, and....

Sorry, too much to tell. But I love the track.

Most annoying song ever, they should've forced her to leave the US forever after that thing came out.

I remember listening to it before Titanic had come out and it became one of the most overplayed songs in history, along with Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris". I got chills when I heard it that first time. I listened to it again a few months ago after being able to avoid it for a few years, and it's a fantastic song. Dion has got some serious pipes.

If that song were to come out today, I wonder who they'd get to sing it. There's a lack of powerful female singers these days. Probably Adele, who I think is still far outdone by Dion.

I would've loved to hear Whitney Houston sing it in her prime.

As far as being underrated though, it won most of the major awards it was nominated for, and is one of the best selling singles in history. I just think it gets a lot of hate due to its overexposure.

It was immensly popular and it was catchy. As a former DJ, my love for it has gone down a lot after hearing many a drunk lady try to croon it out at a bar.

Underrated? Being one of the best selling singles ever, topping charts almost all over the world? If anything, quite overrated!
