Has anyone purchased this HD collection?

I loved Budokai 3 and so glad it's been re-released on PS3 with HD graphics!

Shame they didn't add multiplayer to Budokai 3 but never mind!

I used to have endless fun with this with my mates, they could never beat me! I showed them how to do the KaMeHaMeHa and they just used to spam it lol!

Can't wait to pick up my copy! Also the Platinum doesn't seem that difficult!

thanks Genetic, I totally forgot about this. I was so focused on Okami HD coming out that forgot about the collection. I agree so much, B3 was the best DBZ game in my opinion. is it psn only or is there a disc version? "pick up my copy" sounds physical.

AGREED!!! Budokai 3 is the BEST DBZ game.......... Wait for it.......... In the world!!! I couldn't tell you how many hours of my life I lost to this amazing game!

Yeah it's a physical copy I haven't joined the digital downloads band wagon yet still like to actually own something for my money (is that old fashioned? Lol!)

I haven't picked up a copy yet but I get paid on Friday so will hopefully be getting it then!

ah thats tough. basically in order to get 100% (before trophies even existed) I used Omega Shenron. The old, heart disease + cure trick and I could win the tournament easy. (yeah it was cheap but I wanted all the stuff unlocked)

for real play, I have to admit I'm lame and go for Goku. But I will also go for Vegeta and Krillan almost as much. Krillan is actually one of my fav chars. And while i'd love to be Goku, I know i'm more Vegeta, so I go with it.

how about you?

i've played around with the other versions the ten....whatever, and the controls never felt as good as the Budokai's. probably going to wait for it to come down in price though. I have tons of games I haven't started yet, so I can wait. but I will absolutely be picking it up.

I have to admit i found much enjoyment in these games as well. Budokai was kinda meh to me after a week, but 2 and 3 i spent countless hours on. shame they didnt include part 2. still remember doing fusion with Goten and Trunks for the first time. instant Geekgasm.......

What is this trick you speak of? I used to have so much trouble beating the tournaments because the computer would always use cheap win tactics!

My favorite character has to be Kid Gohan, when he goes all out mental at the end of the Cell Games is just CRAZY awesome and I love the father son kamehameha! But as you said I also like Goku especially the fusion between him and Vegeta = Unstoppable!!!

Ok another one, what's your favorite transformation? Mine has to be SSJ3, when I first saw Goku transform in the show (about 12 episodes later..... What? He needed time to power up) my jaw literally hit the floor it made him look proper bad ass!!!

the trick is awesome, you equip the heart virus (whatever it is called that goku had in the show that killed him before android saga that trunks comes from) that drains the life of BOTH fighters over time, and stops around half a single health bar. then you equip the cure, so you don't lose health. just run away for a few seconds as the opponent drains and you just have to get a few hits in and they die, you win.

I'm probably going to get flak, but I didn't hate GT. I agree it was a cheap attempt at going back to DB, but I still liked most of the stories, I liked Pan, and the dark dragon saga. So my absolute favorite transformation is SSJ4. I love the look of it and how just insanely powerful (like they weren't insanely powerful at the end of DB!) and of course Goku/Vegeta SSJ4 fusion is awesome!

My favorite saga is definitely the Cell games I really enjoyed watching Gohan go from a whinny little kid to a bad ass teen who knew he could beat Cell with his eyes closed! It's suggested that he could have surpassed Goku's power but they never expanded on this which was a shame!

I like Majin Vegeta it took him back to his original evil self and he looked ultimately bad ass with the M on his head and the fact that he let Babidi do that to him to become more powerful was pretty cool!

yeah i find it kinda stupid to call it a collection when it's only 1 and 3. doesn't really make any sense.

i wonder if it was some sort of licensing/legal issue that tied up 2?

I don't have the HD Collection but I did however wear out the PS2 discs for all Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi games for playing them so much. Plus even played the Gamecube versions of 1 and 2 as well.

I only ever played Budokai 3. It was pretty good but nothing special in my opinion. It was however a nice way for me to experience the DBZ world. Got to experience the different sagas, but couldn't get passed this one guy at all and that's where my story ends with it. I forget who it was, maybe a bu i think. I'm trying to remember and I think that when I lost, he sucked up the people.

Here's the reason, which doesn't seem good enough to me.

Well, the overall Budokai series is one of the best. So, I mean, the fans love it. Even from critical acclaim it’s one of the most popular [DBZ game series]. But looking at it — down and dirty — what the fans really loved and cherished, sure you find fans that love all three of them, but [Budokai] 1 and 3 really stuck out, so we sort of chose those as the ones to kind of put in this HD Collection

I absolutely love DBZ but never liked the games..I wish TellTale games could make a DBZ game,the way they make games it would be perfect for DBZ!

IMO Budokai 3 was and is the best DBZ game! I'd have been happy with just a HD version of this standalone lol!

Its payday tomorrow so I'll be picking this up after work plus I'm nearly done with Assassins Creed 3 so I need something to keep me busy!

Agreed, though I'd only pay $20 for a HD clean up of a game i already have, like i did with Okami.
