So I have heard that studios are toning down the bass of their movies on Blu-ray. This is not on catalog titles, like Jurassic Park, but on new movies. Now I do not have the best sub in the world, but it gives out considerably neutral, even bass. The sub made a subtle difference to my sound system.
I watched "Monsters University" on Blu today, and I noticed during the party at ROR, the bass was toned down than it was in the cinema. Everything else is identical in the mix than it was in the theaters, but it's just that one scene were the bass artistically drowned the sound originally. Is anyone sure what was going on? Did it have to do with my setup or was the LFE filtered? |
