My god can this really be happening. They release a Region Locked in the states. But they don't release it else where where the **** does that make sense. This is unheard of FOX is insane for doing this only relasing it in the states and canada and then make it locked also. They don't care about the foreing fans. I am baffled

they might have cancelled it to be released at a later date , it happens here quite a bit some titles get pushed back a few months , i think blade runner was meant to come out last year here and its only just coming out next month.

so it does suck UK brothers and sisters but with a bit of luck its only temp and it will be back up for order soon.

The Region coding is ruinning the future for Blu. Cant the f**king idiotic studios who region code there blu's see that. it was only after the code was broken on DVD. DVD only took full speed ahead because of that. Those selfish companies that do region codes must stop doing them or Blu will never succeed over DVD. Can't they see that

Coming when in 2009? 31st December? Sorry, but its still not good enough. Especially when Fox has basically sold "I Want to Believe" to people who are potentially unaware about the sequel coming to Blu-ray at all.

Firstly: we know I want to believe is out in the UK.

Secondly: Regarding other European releases of I Want to Believe, the United Kingdom does not equal Europe. Staged releases are common across Europe. However, at least people in territories where the movie is yet to be released know when it will be coming out.

People here are complaining because there's no sign of (arguably) the superior X-Files movie on Blu-ray in Europe/Australia. They are also complaining because a catalogue title owned and distributed by Fox worldwide is region locked. And finally, some are complaining that the UK isn't given the option of buying a cheaper double-pack of the titles on Day and Date with the new film being released like the US is.

And incidently, other Fox European Blu-ray woes include UK buyers not being able to buy the original Omen or Planet of the Apes movies on Blu-ray singularly, and have to buy the boxsets even if they have little or no interest in the sequels. Other catalog films not being released (Point Break, Daredevil, Mrs Doubtfire...) Supplements being missed from discs or even entire discs/contents being missed from boxsets (Such as the Omen set not getting Omen666) or the Planet of the Apes set not getting the coffee table book.

All because Fox region encodes their catalogue titles - something we were told was to protect theatrical windows and licencees. Neither of which applies in these cases.

Regardless of which Blu-ray region you live in, surely you can at least understand why this is leading to a slow build-up of resentment towards Fox outside the US. I would hope at least Fox would be able to see this, but apparently not as the seemingly cancelled UK Day The Earth Stood Still (previously officially announced by Fox UK) will attest - they still just stumble blindly on, oblivious to the ill-will they are creating.

How I laugh at all the Warner lossless audio complaints. At least you can still buy the damn movies! Fox doesn't even give Europe the option!

well there's a problem right there. what do you mean by superior x-files film? i think they're both excellent and while fight the future has the slight edge i think i want to believe is equally as good as fight the future. i definitely think the cinematography is top notch in i want to believe and well may be better than fight the future. i think it has more of that x-files feel.

No FightTheFutureOfHD, the freaking problem is, being as Fox don't deem me worthy of buying both movies on Blu-ray, I can't look at both films objectively and I have to rely on my memories, and in my memories the first film is better (and got a better critical reception).

And I'm not going to buy the second movie on it's own when I know a cheaper two pack will eventually be released in the UK - even if it takes 12 months or more.
