Canada The best $500 sub, mind you up in Canada si IDs are not as cheap, though many do also

I've the the awesome pleasure of retuning my setup, and my old DENON AVR-987P (which was the commercial version of it and came with rack ears and some slight differences, and I think was more for higher reliable units) with having no more neighbors below me, can still drive my Mission 700 series setup very easily, Mission does state a minimum 25 Watts, which for 5.1 channels can get loud.

So long story short, I fell in love with my Missions again, those british sounding, mid-highs could almost be described as harsh,,,, BUT the ease they have with vocals is almost clinical, which makes for an awesome setup for such old gear. Both that receiver because it was BEST OF CES back then First HDMI 1.1 2 Inputs. But what many also found out that the amp section could actually almost hit the rated power specs, dipping only 12-20 Watts max. So until something revolutionary happens, my move next year will take care of that.

Ok, so back on track I plan on getting a very good basic sub, and use my tiny Mission sub for my music room.

My most probable choice is either the SVS PB-1000 or the SB-1000, I know from a demo in this price range the competition has its work cut out for them. I know I could maybe go $100-150 more, but it would need to bis somewhat of a decent step from the PB-100

Also, when I move next year, depending where I end up, than I would pick up a 2nd one, so a company that maintains its lines.

http://www.sonicboomaudio.com/ is in Ontario. They can get u the SVS subs and the prices are fair.
For any other ID companies u are thinking of have them shipped in the states (http://www.freeportforwarding.com/) and go pick it up. You WILL pay taxes but will save on shipping and brokerage fees.
You can also look at the classifieds. Some sweet deals do come up every now and then.
