Default Things your movie theatre doesn't allow

From their website and from personal experience, my local theatre doesn't allow cell phone usage (texting/talking), small children, talking, and feet on seats. Any one of these can get you kicked out without a refund. For the big movies, they usually have someone in the theatre watching. For the smaller movies, someone usually comes in every 20 minutes or so. I remember getting a warning because I had my feet on the seat before the trailers even started.

And I just recently found an article on my local paper's website about the movie theatre from earlier this year and I guess now they don't allow backpacks and trench coats into the theatre. Diaper bags are allowed but will have to be looked into. Apparently they're doing it for safety and I couldn't be any more happier. People who carry backpacks around are so sketchy.

The only negative reviews I found for my local theatre are people getting mad that they wouldn't let their "sleeping" 3 month old baby in or they were closed during a blizzard.

Are there any things your theatre doesn't allow?

There's the usual stuff like texting and talking too loudly. But it hardly gets enforced thats why I seldom go to the cinema now.

This. You can get away with pretty much anything. Could probably even have sex without getting kicked out .

My local theater doesn't allow anyone to come in costume anymore, thanks to the Dark Knight shootings last summer.

That is a shame. I'd enjoy seeing your outfits.

The worst I've ever had is during Orphan a guy talked during half the scenes making irritating remarks. Don't live near that theater anymore. Now I just get obnoxious phone pull-er-out-ers.

For real? Say you came from the office or something? No sir, go home and change first? You're likely to carry an M4 beneath that vest of yours?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that they were getting Frances Ha and Fruitvale Station in my theatre, problem is that they only are showing them for one weekend and at 9:00 PM.

At least they got the film, can't wait to see it!

They also dont allow long movies apparently unless magical creatures are involved.
They never got Cloud Atlas , didnt get Lincoln until late January of this year (!!!) , never got There Will Be Blood, Babel, etc.

Last time I went to the theater was years ago when Catch Me If You Can was playing. There was a group of around 12 year old boys throwing popcorn at a pretty trashy couple smoking and drinking in the theater, probably in their mid twenties. After getting hit with popcorn this dude confronted the kids with a cigarette in mouth and PUNCHED one in the face! No one got in trouble at all. You could tell it took everything inside the kid not to cry. After that, I was done with the theater. Both were in the wrong, put you don't hit kids no matter what. I couldn't believe they got away with smoking pot and drinking, but I think people were too intimidated to say anything after the punch.

I would've bumped all their heads together.

I would of just done nothing because that story never happened.

You're totally right, I have this serious problem with mixing reality and my fantasies....ask my wife, she has to deal with it on a daily basis.

i've been asked about 4 times if they could look into my tote bag. Once, they said they were looking for weapons. They didn't say the other times, but it could also be recording equipment or outside food, I guess.

I wouldn't mind a theater that doesn't allow small children.

You know that won't happen, too many ticket sales for small children, even though most of them have almost no idea how to behave during a movie. Then again neither do most adults but that's another issue.
