Default Trading in movies for store credit while in the U.S

Hey guys, does anyone know if there are any border ramifications if I were to bring some movies (more than a dozen, less than a hundred) on a cross-border shopping trip to trade with the local buy and sell shops for credit? Everything I read online seems to pertain to larger scale importing operations. If anyone has any info or experience with this, I would greatly appreciate their insight.
Thank you in advance to anyone who could assist me with this.

If it's store credit, you should be fine. Even if you're trading in for cash, I don't think it's an issue unless it's several thousand dollars.

Thanks for the reply. I know trying to trade for credit seems harmless, but I was just worried about the appearance of things, trying to cross the border with a few shoeboxes full of movies without any proof of what I intended to do with them.

I assume this is by car. There should be no problem unless you look like a shady character. The amount of movies which you are talking about and their value is not large enough to be of interest to them.

Even if they pull you over for some reason, as long as you can show that the DVDs are legal products, you should be fine. CBP may be interested in catching people with pirated materials, but if you're transporting your own personal, legal copies of these movies, they can't really do anything about it. For all they know, you could be headed to your friend's place for an epic movie marathon haha

Thanks for the input guys. I will make sure to downplay my inherent shadiness.

When I was 19 my friend and I headed down for an action figure collecting trip. The border guy asked if we had anything we were leaving down there and we both said no. We were good guys but they pulled us over for a search anyway. He came back and asked about a bag of toys in the trunk. I had brought a bag of Kiss figures I had bought the fall before to try and resell in Canada but there was no interest. It was past the return window but I had the receipt and thought I'd try to return them anyway.

The guy went off about what they were for, he had asked me if I was leaving anything there and I had said no, I forget if he said anything about confiscating them, but they did some checks on us or something. My friend was pissed that I didn't say anything but those didn't even come to mind when he asked. Anyways they let us go and i ended up not being able to return them. I tried to sell them for like another 3 years and eventually gave them to my friends brother in law for a Christmas gift because he was a big Kiss fan.

Anyway, as was said above make your intentions clear,
And if you have receipts for anything it can't hurt.
