Default Quick SB Question

I'm looking to start buying some SteelBooks. Is the packaging the only difference? I just want to make sure that the actual video transfer is the same quality.

Yeah, exactly the same discs, just fancy cases.

Be prepared for an expensive hobby. You've been warned.

Sometimes steelbooks have fewer discs than the amaray versions - for example the recent Close Encounters Of The Third Kind steelbook doesn't have the extras disc that the normal version has, and sometimes steelbooks (mainly in the UK) don't include the 3d version even if the amaray version does. Stupid and frustrating, but worth thinking about what's more important for you with any given release, packaging or content.

This hobby is retarded, but still we persist. Same with the whole sword collecting thing.

Never got into sword collecting... yet. Hey, they're both made out of steel.

I'm going to hi-jack this thread and ask a new question:

Does anybody know what the shipping costs are for sending out steelbooks? Is there a link or page I can get a shortcut to, that shows the pricing? I would be using Canada Post. Thanks.

There is no easy answer. You have to check to see which release was included in the SteelBook. Was it the 1st UK release? 2nd? Which studio? Corrected disc? Were the extras included or a dumb DVD version of the movie?

I've bought over 50 since March and still have a dozen pre-ordered or on their way to me. I learned quite quickly that this is expensive.

They're so gosh darn BEAUTIFUL though.
