Default What's your favorite scene to demo pq and sq?

Hey everyone, just wondering whats a great movie/scene to demo... Of course I love my blu-ray, but when people come over... and I'm ready to give the sales pitch, what is the greatest scene to show people that really shows off picture and sound quality? Cause really, when I hit play, I think blu-ray sells itself.

POTC...either one. Anything on the disc...except the scenes with the framing issues on POTC 1...

I like the Casino Royale scene where he's on top of a crane fighting.

also the chase scene from The Rock was pretty bad ass.

I don't have it yet, but I think the opening of Cars may end up being one of the best demo scenes. The roar of the engine for sound and then the race around the track for video.

Parts of the chase scene in Apocalypto are good too.

I use the whole opening scene, but that crane part is breathtaking in hi-def.

The Fantastic Four 2 wedding scene that has the Human Torch and Silver Surfer chase. It shows good detail at the wedding on all the people and then the Action CGI looks awesome to.

Also I always throw in The Warriors, it is the best lookin old movie i own and may be the best lookin old movie on Blu-ray. I feel its important to show a very very good looking old movie because people wanna get those to and this way they know Blu-ray does wonders for all movies, not just new ones.

For AQ i whould use Stealth or Spiderman 2+3, Layer Cake has awesome sound aswell. Troy Directors cut. The Fifth Element.

For VQ Spiderman 3, Troy Directors Cut, Casino Royal, Click any of the POTC movies... :P

And for an old movie Viva Las Vegas looks brilliant!

If we'd've gotten Superman Returns with PCM, then I would go with Superman vs. the plane. I'll be honest, I've seen it on dud with TrueHD and cranking it up on the receiver makes it pretty sweet.

depends on the crowd. I really like the sandman origin scene in spidey 3 makes good use of the surrounds and the detail of the sand when he is changedis amazing.

for others who say ''i can't see the difference'' I bust out my instore demo disc the blu fairy brought me and go to the side by side comparison part.

ratatouille will probably become one of my new demos when it comes out.

MAN, U TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUTTA MY MOUTH..... That sandman intro scequence is totally awesome if you have a good surround setup! It feels like your right in the middle of it all. Any action sequence in spidey 3 is awesome in PQ and SQ. For the longest time.... Titan AE held the top rank as SD audio demo.... Talk about stress test 4 your system! Cant wait for that release.

Default Apocalypto

When Jaguar Paw is running thru the lush green jungle with the Mayan kill squad on his rear end and a jaguar zipping along. The green foliage just seems to pop out of my HDTV! The scene has it all: crystal clear color, action, and great sound!

I thought Hellboy and Meet the Robinsons had very nice PQ. Fith Element Remastered on a bd-50 duallayer looks very good..especially in the first scene with Milla Jovovich walking out on the side of the building and it zooms in on her face.
