Fun Stuff...
*Paul *Washington, DC area - Lorton, VA (Northern, VA) *Age 35 *Father of a fun 2 year old and another on the way in November *Married for 10 years *Control system design engineer (Crestron programmer) *Got into A/V from accounting and programming report writing software for accountants. Ended up programming Crestron systems and things have been crazy from there. *Displays in my home: Sampo 50" plasma w/ 106" Draper Ultimate Access V screen the drops in front of it for movie nights. Panasonic PT-L300U projector does that duty. 42" Samsung Plasma in the master bedroom. A few RCA tube televisions around for the kids. *Blu-Ray player, DVD or HDDVD in my home: No Blu-ray yet, waiting on PS3 I have two main DVD players - A 400 Disc Sony 995 model and an older DVP-NS725P. One for rented movies played locally, the other setup for distribution to multple rooms. *Receiver: Yamaha RX-Z1 *Speakers Mains: Definitive Technology BP30 Center: Sonance Silverscreen 50 Rears: Definitive Technology BPX Subwoofer: Velodyne HGS-18 (BOOM!) *Game systems: PS2 *Cables: Pretty much all custom made Planet Waves stuff. OTHER: Distributed audio to 10 rooms in my home with the following sources: XM Radio, FM Tuner, Dual Digital Music Server, TV, DVD/CD All is Crestron controlled with 12 button keypads in most rooms, a 12" panel in the family room as well as a handheld Crestron remote. A full sized rack in the basement remotely holds things like the A/V receiver, cable box, house audio sources, amplifiers, etc. A local rack in the family room holds the PS2, DVD player, etc. I did the entire install and pulled all the wiring pretty much myself. All terminations were done by me, and the house is setup with a bunch of conduit for future expandability. |
