Question Help with pre-teen to teen shopping!

Hey all, I am hopelessly out of the loop when it comes to shopping for ages 10-15! I'm taking my last set of nieces and nephews back to school shopping and could really use some help! The ages of my friends' kids are still toddlers so they were not any help, I'm hoping the kind folks here are more in the know. The school supplies are easy, it's the clothes that are perplexing.

Is there like a one-stop "must-have" accessory? Are Uggs even still popular? What are the cool brand jeans or shoes? Obviously, the clothes need to be a bit conservative so nothing too "adult." Tablets and smartphones are out of the question as my sis-in-law doesn't allow them to have access to the Internet without her direct supervision.

They just moved so all are entering new schools and I'm trying to ease the transition. I know material things aren't the answer but at that age, it really helps them "fit in" and does provide a certain level of confidence.
