So, a mod-verified gaffer named Nealand Liquor just posted this interesting tidbit in the TALES FROM MY ASS thread.

Disclaimer: I just work at a very large retailer, managing the electronics sales force and nothing more. I have nothing to do with purchasing, nation wide merchandising or shipping. It's that just yesterday we received a product release schedule from our head office and I thought this is OT itt. These schedules btw, are for internal use only, designed to allow us time to create our instore merch plans. If the launch date for a product is unknown, it's simply marked TBA. The only time a date is ever included is when we have received confirmation of said date from the product company.

So, what do you think? Possible?



Edit: Mod-verified means that this particular gaffer is indeed in the position to receive such knowledge, as has been checked by Bishoptl himself.
This means it's still a rumor, but it does have a verified source. Nothing more.

Another day and another release date rumour for the PlayStation 4.

This time the date of October 21st comes from a post on NeoGAF, where user Nealand Liquor has posted that the store he works for, which remains unnamed, has received a release schedule pinning that date as release day for Sony’s next gen machine.

This rumour appears to have some weight as that user is mod-verified on GAF, which means that the mods have checked Nealand Liquor out and have seen enough proof that what he posts is information that could indeed be legitimate.

This would mean the PS4 would release before the One, taking advantage of the small time frame to appeal to the mainstream audience. We’re more than likely to get a solid release date for both next gen consoles next week at Gamescom, where both Sony and Microsoft are hosting conferences.
