Kino is not renewing their license on these titles via a post on their Facebook. They are being offered at a discounted price (18.99) for the two pack on their official store here:

I own both already and love both films to death but I would double dip in a heartbeat if both were re-released by Criterion.

Thanks for the heads up. Blind-bought the set ($18.99 + $6.00 shipping = $24.99).

Really liked/loved Wong Kar-Wai's Chungking Express and In the Mood for Love when I saw them nearly 15 years ago, so I'm sure this is a safe blind buy.

To some, Fallen Angels and Happy Together are inferior iterations of the above films. Me, I think the opposite.

Agreed. Fallen Angels especially is... my favourite Chinese film. This is really a must-own set. Shame it's going OOP.

I wonder if this means anything for Days of Being Wild – I assume since their DVD is in print, they have the rights for the blu-ray? Or maybe they're losing that as well? Really hoping to see that one make it to blu (with proper subs) soon...

I can't guarantee that these movies will change your mind. Kar-Wai's films are an acquired taste, though from my point-of-view, these films are a bit more controlled in the narrative and a bit more fun.

Thanks for the heads up. I often thought about buying Fallen Angels and Happy Together but never came down to it. I placed an order yesterday for the individual releases.

I received an email today saying that my credit card was charged and that shipping can take up to 3 days to be processed.

UPDATE: The site no longer has the set in stock, nor do they for the individual blu-rays.

Good thing I bought it quick; wish I did the same for Cowboy Bebop or GotG steelbook.

Got my package from Kino. In a white box, containing a good amount of bubblewrap and their magazine scribe to wrap around the set, and thus the set is undamaged. Wish this was a standard for major online retailers (sans the magazine).

I was hoping I'd get mine tonight because Fedex had my copy in-state yesterday, but today they sent it to West Virginia for some reason. Oh well I just hope it arrives in time for the weekend.

Just want to mention that Fallen Angels is streaming on Netflix for those that have it, and want to check it out first. It's from Kino, so will presumably be removed the same time their physical license ends.

Any chance of Chungking Express being re-released on Blu-ray? I missed out on the Criterion one and now it's super expensive. Are there Blu-ray editions from HK that are good quality of WKW's films? Thanks for the heads up on these going out of print. I missed out on the Kino deal but picked them up individually from other places.

The UK one is region free.

EDIT: Hmm, I didn't know that one was out of print too (or seems to be, since Amazon only has third party in stock).
