Ireland Ireland September Vacation Help

Hello fellows. I know this is a "General Chat" topic but I figured this would be the best place for it. I'm planning my first trip to Ireland in September and I guess I have kind of procrastinated. I actually am going to try and go further and see more than I had originally thought so that's the main reason for that.
Anyway, I will be there from Sept 5th to Sept 18th and need places to stay and itinerary ideas. I will be flying into Dublin and spending the first two nights there. I will be relying on public transportation while staying in Ireland but after that I plan on renting a car. Thinking either Hertz or Dan Dooley but have not looked into either yet.

Towns I plan on staying in after Dublin are
Graiguenamanagh in the Southwest
Kenmare
Adare
Clifden

I had originally thought I would be heading back to Dublin after Clifden but I've decided to go further North (not into N.I. but further North in the Republic). Possibly as far up as Letterkenny or even further.

Sites that I really would like to see include
Glendalough
Inistioge (Small town)
Military Road Drive
Powerscourt
Lakes of Killarney
Dingle Peninsula Drive
Ring Of Kerry Drive
Kylemore Abbey
Skellig Michael

I guess those are kind of the musts. I'm certainly not asking for anyone to plan my itinerary but if you have any tips or can suggest good places to stay or just good general Ireland travel info, it would be much appreciated
