Thinking about seeing this the day it starts playing.

EDIT: Mostly out of curiosity.

John Cusack as Nixon and Alan Rickman as Regan...could be an infamous recipe for disaster or a boring Oscar baiting film. I'd personally prefer the former over the latter.

This has Oscar Bait written all over it. (Cautiously hoping for the best)

I think it may be way too episodic. Doesn't it cover the butler's ENTIRE life, his service to seven presidents or so? Yikes, I really don't know how that's gonna work.

This looks pretty bad. Despite the cast I might have to pass on this.

I have to say how disgusted I am at how WB tried to extort the rights to the Hobbit from Weinstien by screwing them over the title to this film. Just shameful behavior.

Didn't hear about that, but I just searched it up. What a childish move.

No one in this film looks there part's maybe there budget is the reason they could not afford the true talent needed for this history-bio pic.

I mean look at who is playing John F. Kennedy-James Marsden give me a break does not sound or look like the man.

Was Greg Kinnear just to busy for reprise the role?

This look like a tv movie at best.

I'm not particularly fond of the casting choices of James Marsden or John Cusack, but it still looks like it could be good.

It's getting better reviews then the other things coming out this weekend, so it will probably be the one I end up seeing this weekend, or at least the first one.

I honestly didn't think it would be a big release film, but I guess I'm wrong.

Almost every theater in my state will be having it.

This got #1 for the weekend, yet no one on here is talking about it

Personally I haven't seen any promotion for this, so it getting #1 is a surprise.

Saw this today to a nearly packed 10:00am showing. It was okay. 3/5 maybe???

I mean all the President's are mere cameos, some getting the most out of their brief time, but huge actors in tiny roles. I really enjoyed Cusack as Nixon and Schrieber as LBJ the most...old Liev got the most laughs in my audience.

But the film is like 95% about Whitaker and his wife, Oprah, and sometimes their two kids.

But everything is really been there, seen it before.

It was interesting that this guy had ZERO political beliefs until
[Show spoiler]Reagan
came to power.

So for that reason, I can totally see why
[Show spoiler]Republicans
man not like this film at all, since they seem to be the ones always trying to take away voting rights and such, from minorities.

And the fact the movie ends
[Show spoiler]with him meeting Obama
and some in this country thinks that is the worst thing ever!!!!!

I also wondered
[Show spoiler]why Whitaker kept aging and going bald, yet Oprah never aged until the very end of the film. Hmmmm.

Funny, that is one of my complaints about the film. It DOES look made for TV every single frame.

Looks like Oscar Bait: The Movie by a mediocre director.

Won't be seeing this unless it gets nominated for best picture, just so I have more reason to say how bad the Academy snubbed films like Mud and Place Beyond the Pines for something like this.

And if Oprah really did say that she chose to do this because she was looking for a role that would get her an Oscar nomination, then to hell with her! That's not why people should act.
