Does anyone know how large the ps3 console will be? You can give me measurements. I read that the console was about the same size as the xbox 360.

It is slightly larger than the 360, but slightly smaller than the Xbox!

I'm not really good at metric conversation so here are the measurements for the ps3 in millimeters:

325mm (W) by 98mm (H) by 274mm (D)

I can see that the ps3 is the largest of the next three generation consoles, but that's not a problem. I like the shape of the ps3, how it's curved at the top.

looks to be about the size of standard HT hardware. only problem is that you can't stack it. just send it to the racks

The ps3 isn't stackable, but I doubt the xbox 360 is stackable.

Stack it? Just stand it up at one end of your rack, the top shelf or something.

Mine will be horizontal anyway, so not an issue for me. Sorry!

im not too worried about it. besides, something that special will rest on top of everything anyway

What I meant to say is that you can't put anything on top of the ps3 because of the fact that the top is curved.

it should have it's own shelf, no wait.. a Plinth! A shrine! Ahem, getting carried away now...

Mine will lay horizontally in my tv cabinet, out of sight, which is a shame as I am one of the few people who thinks the PS3 looks pretty stylish.

I don't even mind that the ps3 is curved. It's a nice break from the flat tops that we've had with the ps1 and both the old and new models of the ps2.
