For what it's worth, my favorite vampire flick is "Fright Night" from 1985. I liked Coppola's Dracula.
I'm just wondering if there are some good vampire flicks that are heavy on atmosphere, gore and nudity. To hell with the plot. As long as there are plenty of decapitations and/or malevolent, perverse acts being performed, I'll be good. Maybe something from the 60s or 70s? Are the Jean Rollin vampire flicks worth a damn? Thanks! |

Definitely check out Horror of Dracula. Peter Cushing is absolutely brilliant in it, and Christopher Lee (Who, along with Lugosi, are the faces of Dracula) is pretty decent too. It's like Dracula, but with more of an edge.
Oh wait, plenty of blood and extreme violence...? You kids these days. ![]() Um...Blade? |

I hated LET ME IN. But to each his own.
If you want amosphere, gore and decapitations, 30 Days of Night is an excellent choice. One of my favorite vampire flicks of all time is Daybreakers. It was original, atmospheric, and very well done. |

For what it's worth, I've always been a huge fan of Children Of The Night with Ami Dolenz and Karen Black.
I don't know if I'd call it a good vampire film, but it's definitely an entertaining one. Kind of a cross between Fright Night and Subspecies. |

The Swedish original is great though.
