Before I ask this, just wanted to say thanks for those who replied to my recent "From 37" to 39" TV" thread. My final decision is this: sometime in the months ahead, I will 1) be going for my first Ultra High Definition (UHD) set, provided that 2) the screen can be from 40" to 43" and that 3) the particular set would have virtually no "bezel". I will be using a whole new place in the room for the set. And I will be choosing from Sony, LG, or Samsung -- Sony has a cool 43" XBR UHD set currently that looks really good!
Now, about UHD BD: purely for fun, any guesses as to which studios might first jump onto the format? Which films do you think will be the first to end up getting the UHD BD treatment? Which films do you think should get UHD BD'd? Any films on your UHD BD wishlist? Again, fun questions, yet I'm sure the studios will be monitoring our responses with, at least, a fair degree of seriousness. And yes, I am a huge fan of physical media (BD, DVD, CD), and to those who are upset about some studios' lukewarm outlook for physical media of late (favoring more streaming stuff), I feel your pain! I don't know if there is already a UHD BD thread now, but if there is, please direct this one to it. Thanks! |
