So been looking forward to this one, a classic season in my opinion. A good list of extras by the look of things.

Rarewaves seem to have inflated the price to essentially absorb some of that 10% discount, but at least it's still a saving of £3.87 over HMV now that the latter's 20% discounts are history, plus there are the Rarewaves points to be earned.

Extra excited for this one - my favourite Tom Baker Season (and I love ALL the Baker seasons, he’s long been my favourite Doctor). Will be great to retire the DVDs. Looking forward to the new extras. Hope the wait isn’t too long.

Of the post-60s Who, all that's left is the "Key to Time" season, Pertwee's final season, and Davison's final season. Getting close!

I suspect, production issues aside, Key to Time will probably be last, unless they bring it forward to get as much Tom goodness recorded while he's still up to providing such great entertainment. They may, of course, have recorded a lot in advance as he's wearing the same red braces on more than one of the Collection sets.

Whatever the order, get on with it! 😁

I'm curious about the new episode of Tale of the Tardis with Ncuti and Millie. Is this the first appearance of this episode or did I miss it coming out on iPlayer at some point? Either way, I'm glad to see the series continuing beyond the ones that we got for the 60th Anniversary.

I'm less impressed by the state of The Android Invasion in those clips...a very unpleasant AI look to it. The rest looks fine though.

I've gone for HMV as less doubt over packaging plus I've spent a lot with Rarewaves recently!

Understandable, but I've yet to have an issue with Rarewaves myself. I'm on a tight budget post-relocation, so I'll take any discount I can get! Fingers crossed...

It was on BBC Four last year and then included on the Season One box set. It's still on iPlayer if you want to catch it.

Basically, it's deinterlaced, filmised crap. I turned it off after about ten minutes and won't be wasting my time on it ever again. The jerky, smeary image is verging on unwatchable.

With the Tales of the Tardis episode I'm more interested in the opening/closing bookend segments than the omnibus style episodes.

I pre-ordered it earlier, and the order is still there. But yes clicking on the link it says unavailable again. It’s only been half a day since being announced, and this often happens. It’ll appear again shortly

Absolutely awful AI "restoration" in the YouTube trailer. I hope that's not what's on the set.

Some of the scenes definitely don't look right in the trailer. Here's hoping it's just a cheap and nasty upscale for the Youtube trailer.

Given their track record with the boxsets so far, I'd be surprised if they really messed it up, particularly for a fan-favourite season.

I would be surprised too. But they have already said they have started "mixing" low-level AI into their restored episodes to "add detail back in". Which I don't understand, because any detail they add back in is fake. Pretty disappointing.

I'll still order this set, as I want the full collection, but luckily I've kept all my DVDs. I recently watched Remembrance of the Daleks on the Season 25 set, and after two episodes swapped to the DVD, which actually seemed to have much more detail in the image than the blu-ray, possibly as a result of overdone noise reduction. Shame really.

I was OK what the smoother look of season 25 due to it all being multi-gen 1” tape that didn’t look very nice anyway and the AI cleanup helped make it easier on the eye.

Looks awful in this trailer though, and the first time I’ve noticed the AI being so heavy handed.

That's disappointing. Adding detail "back in" usually means that they've overdone the noise reduction (which plagues a number of 4K film releases I am aware of).

I guess I'll be holding onto the DVDs for the remaining seasons until I can view them and assess if it's overprocessed or not.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the 71 edits for Silver Nemesis still exist? The other three stories would be multiple generations of analog tape but Silver Nemesis (at least the extended version) shouldn't be as bad.
