Contemplative drama directed by Fernando Trueba. Marc Cros (Jean Rochefort), an aging artist living in Nazi-occupied France has struggled with his art in later years but his creative flair and passion is reignited when his wife introduces him to wandering refugee Merce (Aida Folch). Quickly becoming Cros's muse, Merce is taken in by the family and an understanding develops between the artist and his new model. But when Merce decides to help an anti-fascist resistance fighter escape to Spain, there are larger implications for the wider community as well as Cros's work...
