Default New profile 1.1 standard

How will this effect me with older model players. Both samsung 1000 and 1200. The way i read the new standard that except for the ps3 none of the older players can be upgraded to the new standard. Someone that knows more than me please inform me of what happens in the future with new movies that take advantage of the new standard. Will they play on the older players and so forth. Thanks

It seems that most of the time, you'll be able to play the PIP in Full screen , separated from the movie, it doesn,t really have a point wihtout the movie in overlay but still..

The Samsung 5000U (combo), the new LG Combo and the Panasonic BDP-30k are all PIP compatible. The PIP of the PS3 has been confirmed by Fox Senior Vice President at BluFest when talking about Sunshine PIP feature

My understanding is that you wont be able to get the picture in a picture. Except for Warner, who did a work around and has done at least one pip in a different way that does not require 1.1
If your like most people, you dont care about pip. Someone correct me if im wrong. would not be the first time.
