I'm still pretty jealous that you've seen Stray Dogs already! It's been getting incredible reviews all over the place.

I liked your choices too, if I'd seen more of Denis' films then she would've had a great chance at making my list. I've loved the handful I've seen, particularly Beau Travail and Nenette and Boni.

Stray Dogs delivers! The one thing I'll say: if you can, make it the only movie you see on the day that you see it. It's a marathon in and of itself, and I look forward to seeing it again when it isn't the 4th film at the end of a long festival day.

A lot of Claire Denis' films are hard to see on DVD, let alone blu. I really hope Trouble Every Day makes the leap, the viewing I had of it (at TIFF with her and Vincent Gallo both present) was just perfect.

I did find I Don't Want to Sleep Alone and Goodbye, Dragon Inn to both be quite hard going the first time around so that advice is duly noted, thanks.

I've always wondered about the fatigue that must set in for people on a 4 or 5 film a day festival diet. It must be a lot harder to watch something like Wang Bing's Three Sisters or other 2.5-5 hour slow films at the end of a day, which I imagine can affect subsequent reviews.

That Trouble Every Day screening sounds sensational, I'd like to see Gallo and Denis interact as from the interviews I've seen and read with them they appear to have such different personalities. Yeah I can imagine Trouble Every Day would look spectacular on Blu, I often find with her films, moreso than other directors, a desire to see them in better quality than the DVDs.
