USA Treasure of the Four Crowns 3D Blu-ray (1983) [Region A Locked]

I don't see much mention of this 3D classic... Surely this schlock fest would be ripe for Bob and Co to source and restore... It's 3D dynamite!!!

This was the first polarized 3D movie I ever saw, and I thought it was the greatest movie of all time.

Looks like it's unanimous: Folks would be happy to have a 3DFA-restored blu ray of Treasure of the Four Crowns. Then we get to the tangled web that is movie ownership, and it seems that Treasure might now be owned by MGM, which apparently has rights to the bulk of the old Cannon Group library. Happy to be corrected on this score.

Anyway, friend Bob Furmanek would know the answers as to the disposition/availability of this title and he's unlikely to tip his hand if he's in talks or if a project is underway.

Shout Factory released Treasure of the Four Crowns on DVD in 2014. They may still have the license.

Perhaps this is the surprise he referred to in the older thread?

I bought this DVD, the only way to describe the quality would be they bought an old rental copy on VHS, ripped it to a hard drive using a freeware ripping tool and copied it onto a DVD-R.

I actually have a VHS copy that looks about 75% better than the DVD. However I still hold out hope someone will give this film a high quailty release in both 2-D and 3-D!

Same here, at least in 3D. I'm not interested in watching it flat though.

Also same co-stars - Gene Quintano & Lewis Gordon and same director - Ferdinando Baldi.

If this ever made it to 3-D Blu, wonder if we'd get the 93 min version or the 99 min version? I'd be happy with either ...or both.

The quality of the DVD was atrocious to the point that I couldn't make it through the movie.
I remember enjoying it back in the 1980s

There is a 3D version on VHD discs. you would need a VHD player. I believe it was in 3D on CED discs. But, I'm uncertain of that. I would buy this on 3D Blu-ray in a heartbeat! I converted a 2D version of this to 3D but, it isn't the same as a full 3D restoration of this film. I saw this in Rock Hill South Carolina in the 1980's. I have a anaglyth 3D version of this. But, no audio on it. I downloaded it off youtube years ago. all I need is to match the english audio to the video. That is proving difficult to do.

There were never any 3D CEDs- I have everything released on that failed format. There were a few 3D movies released flat on it, including this one.

Thanks! I wasn't entirely certain if it was released in 3D on CED. VHD is the only format it was released in anaglyph 3D.

That's both a auto convert and a bootleg. Don't get these two!
