France Otto; Or Up With Dead People + L.A. Zombie

I finally got around to watching Otto/LA Zombie from OutPlay in France and thought i'd do a little write up on it.

Even though Amazon lists them as separate releases they are both the same release, same disc with a reversible sleeve, one side for Otto and the other for LA Zombie. Both movies are on the same disc, a BD-25, video is AVC at 1080i/50 with DTS HD MA 2.0 Stereo audio. It is region free from what i can tell but since the movies are 50i PAL it's pretty much locked that way. Otto has removable French subtitles, LA has no subs. LA Zombie is the shorter 1 hour long cut of the movie, although there's still explicit stuff there so i'm assuming the 40 minutes missing is just more of that. Otto has some deleted scenes (also presented in HD) for extras, but is missing the commentary track found on the US DVD. As far as i know it's the only HD option for both movies right now so it's worth picking up if you want to own them in HD, but if you're outside PAL territories or are only interested in owning LA Zombie uncut then skip it. It's not the best release being crammed onto a BD-25 but the movies are so low budget it really doesn't matter that much too much and they're both still an upgrade on the DVD releases. Here's some shots from each movie

Otto; Or Up With Dead People

L.A. Zombie

I picked mine up from Amazon Spain where it was much cheaper, but you can shop around to find the cheapest for you. Remember, both movies are on the same disc with the same reversible cover but are listed as separate releases, so it might be worth checking the prices for both listings.
