United Kingdom Jan Svankmajer or blu

Is anybody aware of any forthcoming releases of Jan Svankmajers films?

The BFI edition of Alice is fantastic, as is their shorts boxset (although DVD only).

I have both of those and agree - they're great! Nearest thing they had to more Svankmajer was last year's Jiri Trnka retrospective...but weirdly there weren't any releases from the BFI of his work. Trnka's studio produced The Old Man of the Mountains, an animation I grew up on which was narrated by Brian Blessed...would've been nice to see some of his studio's work remastered by the BFI...and more Svankmajer would also be welcome!

I've never seen any of his work but, by sheer coincidence, I am off to watch a digital print of Alice at my local arthouse tonight, looking forward to it very much.

There's a Japanese release of Surviving Life for those who have an understanding of Czech or Japanese

Don't know of anything on blu-ray in the UK apart from Alice, managed to pick up the shorts box set from Amazon last week for under Ł11 which was a bargain!

I would desperately love some more Švankmajer on Blu, especially the shorts.

Alice looks fantastic.

I've not purchased the UK DVDs of these because I'm holding out for a HD release, but I guess it may never happen if people do not buy the DVDs...

I'm considering this, but will have a hell of a time convincing my partner to come...
