It's been out for a while now...I would purchase one if I had the money...but, alas I do not.

I didn't think it looked that great myself, plus I always expect the first of anything to be less than ideal. Just wait for the newer models to come out, they will fix most of these problems and most likely make a decent product. I myself will have to wait on these for a few years anyways, I can't afford it right now. But I do plan on having all my home videos on HD, burned to BD.
All I need is an HD recorder, a BD burner, and a subject to shoot... plus time to edit.

They're pretty nice looking camcorders, and seem really good. I'll wait for the price to drop down to around $800, or till I really need one. I remember buying a DVD camcorder with 12 zoom when they first came out, and it was close to $1000, now it be like $400 and $800 for a really good one.

...so I'll wait till I really need one or there's a price break.

I would actually highly recommend the Sony Hi-End series that records in Hi Def AVCHD format. Looks great on Blu-Ray machines.

We use the Sony XDCAM HDs here. Waiting on a BD burner so I can try it on my PS3 at home

The BD discs used in the XDCAM are enclosed in a cartridge maybe Ill crack one open and try it that way
