Now where is one of my favourite films - the original Journey To The Centre Of The Earth?

What! They release this, but can't be bothered to release Journey To The Centre Of The Earth. What's going on! Actually this is a bit of a guilty pleasure, along with The Lost Word '61 (& that never did get a DVD release in the UK). A lot of these should really be double-bills, but I suppose they're trying to make as much money as possible, I can't blame them for that in these hard times.

I recorded Journey in HD from Film Four, it looks nice, not stunning, I'd buy a Blu, I'm sure a German release will show up sooner or later.

It is being released in Australia in September. Pretty cheap for one of their releases as well. Is under customs limit.

The problem with a wider release is Fox licensed this to Twilight Time in the US and that sold out in a few months as was a 3,000 copy limited edition. TT have a 3 year exclusive window in the US on the titles they license. However nothing to stop Fox releasing elsewhere as we are now seeing in Australia.

Great news. Just one thing: the cover is wrong. The Seaview (the submarine) depicted on the cover with 4 windows was used on the TV show since the second season, I believe. The movie Seaview had 8 windows. I've noticed this cover has a TBC (To be Confirmed) stamp on it so this might be just an early draft. If this cover was indeed designed by the studio, I hope that they choose to either use the DVD cover of the Global Warming Edition or commission a whole new one for this one is quite ugly.

Thanks, & a better cover, but I won't order it as it's bound to get a European release sometime soon. I have two Twilight Time releases, The Egyptian & Mysterious Island, & they both look great, but I don't spend that sort of money on Blu-rays these days. The Lost World '61 is in many ways a terrible movie, but I have a soft spot for it, having seen it at the cinema all those years ago, so I hope that gets a Blu release as well.

Well I've read reviews online of the US release & they say it's region free, so the European release is bound to be region free, probably the same disc released everywhere.
