I'd move it myself. If I ever move I am taking all of my media and putting it in boxes and putting it on one of my vehicles. I would never put them in the moving van though.

Ya. I'd bring my Home theatre electronics and Blu-rays in the same vehicle as myself. Then again, I'd be renting a small cube van if I were moving anyhow, so I'd have lots of room for anything that I would want to keep a close eye on.

400 blu rays should fill up one or two large boxes i think. just pad it well and put it in your u-haul if thats what you are using? i probably wouldnt use USPS to ship it.

This worries me in a couple of years when I move to Los Angeles to get my bachelors degree. Driving from Kentucky to LA doesn't exactly sound fun...
![]() Definitely try and take it all yourself, because I don't trust the mail. Especially with it being your entire collection. |

custom made metal briefcase and lock
handcuffed to you of course these things are extremely valuable in irreplaceable, absolutely no chances should be taken I personally would also seal every release that has a cardboard slip cover in a cushioned, hermetically sealed medical grade plastic too. That might be a little overboard for someone not as serious about film as myself. Last edited by cicada88; 12-06-2013 at 07:45 PM. |

Very carefully. I take one of those plastic crates that you can find at any Wal Mart, etc. Then, I take those plastic bubbles (air bubbles) and layer that on the bottom. Then, I lay down some movies. Can put layers of bubble on top of each row and sides. There is the thick stuff and the thin stuff. I use the fat air bubbles for top and bottom and the thin stuff for layers. If it is something more delicate, then i wrap that individual item in an air bubble. You can get that stuff pretty cheap if you do not already have some. Then, put a layer on top and sometimes tape the box so the lid does not accidentally come off. Of course this takes up some room but it does allow the discs to be transported safely. I once moved from CA to Philly and eventually back. Shipped all my DVDs (at the time before blu) in large moving boxes with clothing lining the bottom and sides media mail. I had no issues, but was most likely very lucky.
If you have the patience, it helps to fold up some paper and put them in the cases to keep the discs from getting loose. Id take anything steelbook or boxset with you in the car. |

They got jobs in Detroit now?
![]() Sorry, I just have to bust a little bit. I love Detroit and hopefully this a sign it's on the rebound. Since my girlfriend is from Atlanta and now lives here, here's a few pointers she found out (She had never been up North and all are things she mentioned to me, usually not joking): The swiggly line button in your car does do something, and it's essential to have living here in the winter time. Snow is not a special effect on movies and TV. Coats are for more than fashion. |
