Good movie. Has there ever been a decent English friendly issue of it? All I remember is a non-anamorphic DVD from HK with atrocious subtitles.

I believe there was an anamorphic DVD released in the UK. Of course, it has PAL speed-up and is standard-def.

And the image quality was the worst I have ever seen on a DVD. Lookerd like an old worn out VHS tape with massive ghosting and blocking artefacts. Really ugly.

The Thai DVD was the most tolerable.

Argh. That could mean that the subtitles on the new Blu-ray will be equally bad, because the bad translations of other Mei Ah movies from VHS and DVD have been recycled for the Blu-ray incarnations as well.
And the (at least as far as spelling and grammar go) error-free English subtitles were, as far as I can remember, the only positive thing about the otherwise unwatchable UK DVD.

On the slim chance this has the original mono track (hahahahaha!) I'll buy it as it's a great film.
