Flixster is now offering a disc-to-digital beta with 5 free credits when you download. They redeem in SD only.

EDIT: Note that accounts flagged for the free credits seem to be random. It may or may not work for you, but worth a shot!

This is not working for me at all.

Have put a dozen DVDs in and nothing is even coming up on the screen for me to click to continue.

Vudu and Cinemanow work fine so it's not my DVD drive.

Says it takes up to 30 seconds to identify discs. Waited a minimum of 2 minutes before I gave up on each.

How do you get the Free Credits. I downloadded from the link but it wants a creditcard to purchase?

I didn't get any credits either. Re-downloading now.

Hmmm...not sure. I downloaded and when I clicked on the "Disc to Digital (Beta)" on the side, it said, "Try it now! You have 5 credits remaining."

I was able to get Out of Africa and Searching for Bobby Fischer to work. About 15 other titles I tried said they didn't qualify.

Incidentally, it seems to only allow certain titles from WB, Universal, Lionsgate, Sony and Paramount.

PS If anyone else gets it to work, I'd be willing to swap some conversions.

Hmm...so it must be awarding credits randomly. I found out about it on another forum with this link and when I downloaded, it gave me the credits right away. For some it works, for some it doesn't it seems...

Everything worked perfectly for me.

I got Unknown, Ben-Hur, Inception, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

That is exactly what I was looking for in a list. I tried many off-beat movies earlier in the day and kept getting back that movie X was not available. Anything beyond the very mainstream titles is unlikely to be included, even if they are from a major Hollywood studio.

It told me unable to process free credits right now. Either pay and get reimbursed or try again later. Thanks.

I've been going through and trying some of the titles on this list. Even when it recognizes the correct disc, some movies are still not available like Damages, starring Jeremy Irons.

Some discs it doesn't seem to recognize at all. Also, some of the free credits can't be used on all of Sony's movies.

I was told by flixster to signout then exit the app then sign back in to get the free credits. im having a technical issue redeeming more than my first cuz my computer shut off during the redeeming so now im waiting for them to fix it. does anyone have any ideas how I may do it myself?

I also had a problem with Double Indemnity, saying that it is available on flixster, but not available for D2D.
