Howdy. Been a while. Just got the Onkyo TX-NR717 and looking forward to it.
Since my old system didn't have HDMI, I have a noob question that is bothering me: if I connect a BD, Xbox, HD cable, and AppleTV by HDMI through my AVR, and then have a HDMI out from AVR into TV, how do I watch one of them on the TV? Is it as simple as choosing the right input/source on the AVR, and making sure the TV has the correct input/source (i.e., the HDMI in from the AVR)? (I ask this because the manual curiously says that I need to have the TV turned to the actual component (i.e., BD or Xbox, etc, which doesn't make sense to me if I'm only running 1 HDMI into my TV). If that's the case, does it mean my AVR has to always be turned on to watch my HD cable? |
