What a shame there's no discussion here. This is a fantastic Rom-Com.
As good or better Debra Messing than Will and Grace. Hope to find this, The Egg and I and The Thrill of It All at BBY or Wally for sub $10 pricing on release week. |

The Egg and I and The Thrill of It All have also moved to April 17 at Amazon. All Uni releases, so they shifted a bunch of movie dates. |

Review is up, guess I'll be skipping this one:
"Edge enhancement, severe digital processing, noise reduction, pasty skin textures, and various splotches and random vertical lines are amongst the most egregious offenders. Very rarely has a movie look this flat, artificial, and ugly on Blu-ray." |

The poor video quality notwithstanding, I have to strongly disagree with the reviewer's assessment of the movie itself. I found The Wedding Date to be a charming Rom-Com with winning performances from Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney. I've watched it numerous times and have always enjoyed it. It's too bad that the the Blu-ray transfer sounds like it's worse than a bad DVD.

I read the PQ review with such a sinking feeling, Universal has hired someone who can't tell bad from good on a 2018 bluray transfer. There has been a lot of relief over the good qualities of the The Mummy 4K, looks like the-gang-who-couldn't-shoot-straight is in charge of the MOD BD releases at Uni now. By the way, don't count on pricing for this to go down much, if at all, as Uni seems to be copying the Warner (Archive) bluray pricing model here for MOD (small batch production runs). These recent BD's with the $21.95 pricepoint won't show up in-store at B&M stores I predict. Just be available from internet e-tailers. So watch out for sales at your favorites web-retail source. I notice Best Buy shows this title and a few others like The Egg & I, but it's avail ship to home only. |

It's great that Universal, of any studio, seems the most willing to release their deeper catalog on Blu-ray themselves. Sadly, that also means they almost never do new scans. :/ Some of these transfers could easily be from the 90s. Weird Science and Family Plot are probably the worst-looking Blu-rays in my collection.
