Default Who no mobile version of bluray.com?

so, yeah... why no mobile version of the site?

it seems like almost every other site in the world (even my crappy local paper) has a mobile version of their website. except bluray.com doesn't.
how come?

i really like how absolutepunk.net has their mobile version set up. right when you go to it it has a bunch of icons to select which part of the site you want to visit. that would be perfect for bluray.com.

anyways, just curious why such a popular site doesn't have anything yet.

Tapatalk is a forum app for Android, iPhone, and iPad that the site has implemented compatibility for. It works very well, and if you're a member of other forums, a lot of them have implemented Taptalk compatibility. It's nice because it stores your accounts in one centralized menu so it's easy to jump back and forth between forums. The only downside is that it doesn't handle pictures or emoticons.

I personally don't like Tapatalk, but that's probably just me. I prefer the standard web version of this site while browsing from my iPhone, as I am now, to what Tapatalk offers. I would definitely like to see an actual mobile version of the site, but if my only choices are the Tapatalk render and the standard web right now, then I'll continue to use the web version. 3G is fast enough that this tends to work pretty well. The only big issue (for me) is when typing in a text field, especially when replying to a post or PM, you can easily run out of space and then you're scrolling up and down to read certain parts of the post/PM.

I use Tapatalk, but personally I don't care for any of them. A phone is too small to actively "participate" on forums. I just use it to browse briefly during the day.

I'm not a fan of Tapatalk either. I just browse the full website on my Droid. Ya..it's a pain but it keeps me updated on new deals throughout the day.

I agree-I use the web version on my EVO. The large screen makes it really convenient.

Just want to chime in here and say I would love a mobile version of the site also. I never participate in these forums and am only posting now as it seems the only way to leave any feedback regarding the main site itself.

I mainly use the site to check reviews and details on different versions of a release before purchasing. Being able to do this in the store while browsing would be nice. Yes, you can do this now but it would be nice if it was easier to navigate and read. Seemed curious to me that a site of this stature and readership has not already made this happen.

Hope your're listening. I would have preferred to send an email but can't find that option. Love the site, keep up the great work, but please add that mobile version soon!

I mainly want an app so I can quickly access my wish list while bluray shopping...not that any store has a good selection nowadays.

I can't stand any mobile or app versions of any website, I especially find it frustrating when a site automatically defaults to a mobile version, you should be asked whether u want the mobile or full version of the site before either load up. Yes there are some that do ask but there are plenty that don't. I find it much easier navigating around full sites on my iPhone than any mobile version of the same site, plus I dislike how mobile sites generally only offer half of what the full site offers and are restricted.

i think there is something in the works for the site, but not sure...

a few days ago i was on my phone, looked normal on the main screen, then when i clicked on a thread, it was more condensed and i didn't have to scroll side to side to read what someone had posted and i didn't have to click to enlarge the text, it was already decent size to read.

but then when i went back a few hours later, or to a different thread, it was "normal" and i had to enlarge the text (zoom in i should say) and scroll from side to side

When I try to access the forum through the Tapatalk app, it tells me, "This forum is either restricting access from Tapatalk or the installed Tapatalk plugin is not working". I just got my first iPhone, so perhaps the problem is the latter. Has anyone else gotten this message?

You have to buy the PAID version to participate.

I did buy it, from the Apple store. I selected Blu-ray DVD Forum, is that this one? When I did a search, that seemed to be the only likely choice.
