I have Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Directors Cut on DVD, and still waiting for the Blu-ray.
It is one of those films where the Director's cut does actually add more to the film. Any chance of it coming out? |

I still have an older bare-bones dvd release that has basically no special features at all. I've never heard anything about a director's cut, but I do know that this is one of my favorite comedies. I like it more than Snatch. I think it's a perfect movie already (save for the yellow color timing), but I'd love to know what's different in the DC. Can you give some details please?

Available in the UK on DVD for a while, one of the first DVDs I got many many years ago. Got this and then added a Special features disc which came with a later Theatrical Edition issued.
It's about 13 mins longer and gives a bit more history between Eddy, his Dad and Hatchet Harry. I much prefer Lock Stock to Snatch. Had Snatch on DVD but got rid of it years ago. Last edited by Nuttymad; 12-20-2013 at 06:20 PM. |

Thanks for the info. I don't know if an extra 13 minutes of backstory only dedicated to Eddy, his dad, and Hatchet Harry is necessary, but I'd have to see them first. I'd rather have an extra 13 minutes of Statham punching people, lol j/k.
As for the Lock, Stock/Snatch debate, for me they're pretty close. Lock Stock juuuuust edges out because I like the characters more, and the overall tone is more comedic. What didn't you like about Snatch though? |

I prefer the extended cut it gives the characters a bit more depth without slowing things down. Ideally a new edition would include Ritchie's short The Hard Case without which Lock, Stock might not have been made as it led to Trudie Styler investing in the film
