France Forever Amber (1947)

this classic Preminger film has no official US dvd, and I've been wanting to see it forever.
Anybody know anything about this French release from Sidonis?

From reading online French reviews, this Blu-ray has English DTS-HD 2.0 audio also, and video and audio scores have been rated at around 2 out 5 stars, basically called a really good DVD but disappointing for hi-def.

What I can't figure out is:

1. Is English the original language?
2. Are the French subtitles forced?

well certainly English is the main language used in the film, but apparently there are a few French words and a few Spanish words also spoken at some point in the film. Overall, it is an English language movie, and I highly doubt this bd would contain a French dub, but I guess it's possible.
would love to see some screenshots and more reviews.
There is a dvd from Spain, but whether it is any good I have no idea.
All I know is that this film appears constantly on lists of great films, and I really want to see it.
Plus it is from the 1940's, which is easily my favorite film decade.

I think you should make the sacrifice and buy it and let us know about the French blu! I sacrificed last time, remember?

unfortunately I just did my insane French purchase of the month by ordering Tenebrae from Fnac, but I'll keep this one in mind for sure.
I think I'll give a little more time for someone to maybe pick up a copy and offer a firsthand report. Of course, not sure how many members on here have much interest in this title with all the other stuff coming out at the moment.
I'll most likely give in eventually.
