Default The King of Belgium's Home Theatre

My home theatre is in its 4th iteration since my college days. For the primary gear, I'm using a JVC RS1, Atlantic Technology 8200 series speakers, Oppo BDP-83, Onkyo TX-SR707, D-Box 340C Motion Controller, Fortress Seating Bijou series.

Complete equipment listing is located here.

Seats with curtains closed

Blinds on

Adjacent equipment room

View from the top of the stairs

More pictures located here.

What do y'all think about my setup? Any questions? Any suggestions?

That's a great looking set up man!!! It looks somewhat like my room except you have tons more space!!! I like the black out covers for the windows and the curtains are a nice touch! Great system, you have paid a lot of attention to detail.

Thank you! Would you believe the window covers are just plywood, strips of carpet from previous theatre incarnations, and a couple of $1 decorative knobs from Home Depot?

The blinds are easy to pull out and reinsert, and much more economical than the $1000 per window price I was quoted for traditional black-out blinds.

Because in Belgium, Stella barely qualifies as beer. The Duvel bottle pictured is a much better representative of quality Belgian beer.

Belgium is more than Stella, fries, waffles and chocolate

Duvel, Chimay, Rochefort, Orval, Kriek Boon, Kriek Lindemans, Delerium Tremens, Westmalle, Leffe,...

Stella Artois is for 12 y.o.

Don't forget Westvleteren! I keep a couple of 8s, 10s, and 12s cool in my refrigerator for special occasions.

It's also known for it's Diamond trade in Antwerpen, and I believe the European parliament sits in Bruxelles.

You made my day! Thank you!

On another note, some people have been messaging me and asking if I only have three seats. Actually, I have a full row just sitting in storage at the moment because the current room I'm using won't support any additional row.

To overcome this issue for my movie nights, where I typically have 6 to 9 guests, I started using these bean bag seats for auxiliary seating.

Click here for more info on these seats if you're interested.

To make this thread comprehensive, I thought I would also share a little trick I use to watch movies in the dark while eating a meal.

It's a lap tray made by SPI that is ideal for this application. I posted a bit more info about it here.

Very cool & I'm sure you're smart & use Rechargeable batteries. LOVE the Terminator skeleton/statue in the corner. I shudder to think what That thing cost...

Great Room, Great setup.

Thank you for the kind comments. The T-800 was a tad pricey, but completely worth it. It's a boyhood dream come true.

Here's a close-up of my marquee.

The marquee really adds that little extra something to my movie nights. More info here.

I'm having brettallica make a custom lit marquee for the actual disc cases, and once I receive it I'll post pix of that as well.
